This specialized program pairs a limited number of technical theatre students with our extraordinary master instructors to create a summer tech theatre experience like none other.
Beyond daily classroom work, SSTI Tech students are designing, constructing, and building a professional show. They're trained in the art of documenting one's work and how to present their craft, abilities, and skills in a college or professional interview. SSTI Tech students annually stand high above the competition for the top collegiate programs.
This is THE opportunity and home for that special student who wants to live and thrive in the world of backstage theatre.

Penn State Musical Theatre '23
This two week intensive is filled to the brim with musical theatre coaching and performance technique. Our incredible staff, pulled from the nation's top musical theatre college programs, pack this intensive with performance-based instruction designed to make you stronger and more versatile. 'Acting the Song', musical theatre dance and vocal coaching, and preparation for college auditions are our primary focuses for you and a limited group of peers at SSTI Essentials. Limited space available for this popular program.

This program, for aspiring performers not yet old enough for our high school intensive, is always a quick sell-out. During this five day session, SSTI Junior Cast Members will be challenged and stretched by the dedicated staff of SSTI. They’ll be pushed, just like the high schoolers, to become not only triple threat performers on-stage, but mature, responsible professionals off-stage. Daily curriculum will be varied and include individualized instruction and group instruction. The session will wrap up with an exciting showcase performance!
